A house in the Taiwanese jungle, where the upper floor floats and the ground floor disappears into the planting.

The plan lies low and long in travertine, and a single dark slatted volume is lifted above it on slim steel columns — the bedrooms, held clear of the damp and the undergrowth. Underneath, the ground floor opens on every side, so the arrival runs from raked gravel straight through the house and out into the garden.

Inside, the curve returns. A double-height hall turns around a travertine drum, the main living room is drawn on a radius so the glass follows the treeline, and the bathroom opens onto its own palm court around a tub cut from a single block of stone.
